ROCHESTER
This suburban community is small in size but big in beauty and open spaces. Mary’s Pond is among the town’s most picturesque areas, flanked by large pines and a sandy beach. A residential community today, Rochester retains many of its farms that were the foundation of the town 300 years ago. Residents of Rochester enjoy beach use and shellfish licenses in the towns of Marion, Mattapoisett and Wareham because its founders reserved seashore rights when Rochester separated from its coastal neighbors.
